Brain Dump

Started to go thru my stash of paintings that are market for scrape off . Something about this painting, I kept putting it back in the think about it pile. It was to small of a canvas for 2 models . And from there everything went down hill from there. My style has changed, I thought maybe I can do something with it. Unfortunately I didn't take a before, you can see the big space between the models, just dead muddy space. I just starting to play around with it and Alice in the Garden idea came into my head. Pleased with the progress. Should be interesting since I paint mostly alla prima. I'm letting it dry a bit before I go back into it. While that is happening I started a small flower painting. Am now hitting my head against the wall.

On the train to Chicago to meet my friend Carolyn . I missed my early train and the one after that. Boy ! I'm a creature of habit , rituals what ever you want to call it. I'm not as flexible as once thought. I would like to think I'm just tired this morning.

Painted in the morning for a few hours. It was so crowded . I was three rows back and my binoculars won't focus in. We all made sacrifices with space , not being able to back up as much as we would like.8 This is the result , keeping in mind form and color, well you win some and lose some. Good practice. Just added another layer of paint for the background.

Indeed I painted this morning. An awkward angel, and yes I rubbed it out . Unfortunately I didn't take a picture. But I was reminded by my sculpture teacher , even encouraged to take pictures of my work today.

Stopped by for a quick draw, with friends. The smell of their oil paints is intoxicating . Reminds me why I love to paint.
